Claim preferred by William Russell for 462 acres, and Grant issued to him, including claims 243a 1 and 243f, 10th June, 18G2. Disallowed. Scrip granted by Governor Fitzroy to Claimant for £1,000. Disallowed. Scrip granted by Governor Fitzroy to G. Russell for £250. Grant recommended for 470 acres, but not issued. (Grant prepared but never sighed.) This was settled in 243a as above*stated. Commissioners recommended a Grant for 2,560 acres ; subsequently Governor Fitzroy in 1844 awarded £0,099 Scrip to W. White for his share in the claim, and in consideration of his releasing the Natives from debts to him of move than £2,000. Governor Fitzroy also awarded £1,901 Scrip to F. White for his share in the claim, but this was not exercised. The Scrip for £6,099 issued to William White in 1844 having disposed of his share of the claim, and Francis White not having received any Grant, the latter brought forward his claim. It appears that in 1841 he had assigned it to F. Burdekin, ol Sydney, to whose representatives a new Grant for 1,280 acres was issued, 10th February, 1862. It was part of the arrangement that F. White should receive any compensation that might be awarded in the matter, and the sum of £160 Scrip was issued to him. (See details in Report.)
