1889. NEW ZEALAND.

NAMES OF RETIRED CIVIL SERVANTS, 1888-89 (RETURN SHOWING), WITH COMPENSATION, ETC.

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives, dated 10th July, 1889. Ordered, " That there be laid be laid before this House a return showing (1) the names of officers in the public service who retired from office in 1888 and 1889; (2) the amount of compensation such officers received; (3) the names of those officers who received retiring allowances, and have since received fresh appointments in the Government service ; (4) the salary attached to any such appointment, and in what cases (if any) the retiring allowance haß been refunded." —(Mr. R.
